Getting Started

Preparing a Business Continuity Plan for your unit is a step by step systematic process. The hardest step is getting started on the process – and the details are in the brainstorming that you will do with your staff. This website has been designed to provide you with some checklists to work through to help stimulate ideas you need to consider and a template (provided by U of M-Flint campus planning efforts) to record actions you plan to take. Not all items on the checklists may apply to your unit, and the checklists have been extracted from various sources and are definitely not all inclusive. We recommend you start by printing out the following checklist and template to use as a guide through the process.
